Colorado Fly Fishing Guide
After 12 years of living and guiding in Summit County, Colorado, you can rest assured that Phil knows where and how to get you into fish! He was hooked on fly fishing after a friend took him out fishing on the Blue River for the first time and he was lucky enough to hook a fish on his very first cast. Guess he was a natural, right? Although not every cast since them has landed him trophy trout, there have been plenty in-between to keep he and his many return clients coming back for more year after year. Phil grew up outside of Chicago and originally got his start fishing the finger lakes of New York during summer vacation.
Phil is the personification of mellow so you won’t be surprised that his favorite fishing spot is called “No Man’s Land” on the Colorado River. A master of reading water at any flow, Phil prides himself on being able to identify high percentage water that is sure to get his guide clients into big and plentiful fish.
When Phil is not out guiding fly fishing trips you are likely to find him rock climbing, hiking, skiing and sailing if he is in the country. When he goes abroad, you’ll find him fishing for Tarpon, Bone Fish and Snook in the tropics. Phil’s wife is currently in her residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, so be sure to ask him how she is doing.
