July 25 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
July 25th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR MONDAY, JULY 25TH.
YESTERDAYS ACTION ON THE ROARING FORK WAS SOLID AS FLOWS FINALLY SETTLE IN TO MID- SEASON LEVELS. DAYTIME RESULTS ARE BEST ON NYMPHS IN A WIDE RANGE OF PATTERNS IMITATING THE DIVERSE HATCHES THAT ARE NOW EMERGING, WHICH INCLUDE CADDIS, STONEFLIES, PALE MORNING DUNS AND THE ODD GREEN DRAKE. MAKE SURE TO STICK AROUND FOR THE EVENING DRY FLY ACTION AS SURFACE ACTIVITY HAS BEEN GREAT ONCE DIRECT SUNLIGHT IS OFF THE WATER.
THE ARKANSAS RIVER IS A SOLID CHOICE FOR WADE AND FLOAT ANGLERS ALIKE. THERE ARE TOP TO BOTTOM HATCHES INCLUDING PMDS, YELLOW SALLIES, GOLDEN STONES AND CADDIS. DRY DROPPER FISHING IS STRONG THROUGHOUT THE RIVER AND DRY FLY ENTHUSIASTS ARE HAVING NO TROUBLE LOCATING FISH TO RISE TO THEIR IMITATIONS.
AND FLOWS ON THE UPPER COLORADO ARE FINALLY MAKING SOME PROGRESS INTO MORE POSITIVE LEVELS FOR ANGLERS. STREAMFLOWS ARE NOW FISHABLE AND IMPROVING DAILY.
AS ALWAYS, FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
