August 1 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 01st, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 1ST.
HERE WE ARE ON THE FIRST DAY OF AUGUST AND CONDITIONS ARE AS PRIME AS EARLY SUMMER. STREAM LEVELS REMAIN HEALTHY AND ARE RUNNING COOL AND CLEAR, PRODUCING THE BEST FISHING OF THE YEAR.
CONDITIONS ON THE EAGLE ARE PERFECT RIGHT NOW FOR WADE AND FLOAT FISHERMAN. THERE ARE CADDIS HATCHING ALONG THE ENTIRE RIVER FROM MINTURN ON DOWN TO EAGLE, AS WELL AS YELLOW SALLIES, GOLDEN STONES AND PMDS IN LOCALIZED HATCHES. CURRENT FLOWS ARE ON A STEADY DECLINE AND ANGLERS WILL WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS BEFORE TOO LONG.
ON THE ARKANSAS, FLOWS IN HAYDEN MEADOWS HAVE FINALLY DROPPED DOWN UNDER 200 CFS WHICH USUALLY OFFERS THE BEST WADE FISHING ACTION OF THE YEAR. ANGLERS ARE HAVING GOOD LUCK ON CADDIS, STONEFLY AND PMD PATERNS, BOTH ON TOP AND BELOW THE SURFACE.
AND AS WE MOVE INTO AUGUST LOOK FOR TERRESTRIAL PATTERNS TO REALLY START TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION ON TROUT FEEDING HABITS AS WELL. HOPPERS ARE A FANTSTIC OPTION FOR TROUT LOOKING FOR A LARGE MEAL.
AS ALWAYS, FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
