GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 6TH.
THE MONSOONAL FLOW LOOKS TO BE MOVING OUT AND RIVER CONDITIIONS ARE RETURNING TO MID SUMMER FORM, MAKING THIS A GREAT WEEKEND TO GET OUT AND ENJOY YOURSELF ON THE WATER.
THE ARKANSAS RIVER HAS PLENTY TO OFFER ANGLERS WITH GREAT ACTION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CORRIDOR. FOR THE WADE FISHERMAN, THE PUBLIC ACCESS BETWEEN LEADVILLE AND TWIN LAKES IS PRODUCING SOLID RESULTS ON A MULTITUDE OF PATTERNS. THERE ARE CADDIS, PALE MORNING DUNS YELLOW SALLIES AND A FEW GREEN DRAKES STILL AROUND. DOWN RIVER FROM THERE, FLOAT FISHERMAN CONTINUE TO HAVE GREAT FISHING ON DRY DROPPER SET UPS WITH EITHER GOLDEN STONE OR HOPPER PATTERNS HOLDING UP BEAD HEAD NYMPHS.
ON THE BLUE RIVER BETWEEN DILLON AND GREEN MOUNTAIN IS RICH WITH POTENTIAL RIGHT NOW AS WATER TEMPS HAVE FINALLY RISEN TO A LEVEL TO PRODUCE A NUMBER OF HATCHES. LOOK FOR CADDIS, YELLOW SALLIES, PMDs AND GREEN DRAKES ALONG THE RIVER. FLOWS ARE STILL HIGH BUT HUNGRY FISH ARE LOOKING UP.
