August 20 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 20th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 20TH.
WITH A SIMILAR WEATHER FORECAST TO YESTERDAY ANGLERS HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE WATER TODAY AND IF THE FISHING IS ANYTHING LIKE YESTERDAY THEN THAT IS GOOD NEWS FOR THE BLUE RIVER.
ACTION THROUGHOUT TOWN HAS BEEN HOT ON DRY FLY PATTERNS FOR ANGLERS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS SHORT LIVED SEASON. IT MAY BE HARD FOR SOME TO BELIEVE BUT THIS NORMALLY TECHNICAL FISHERY IS ACTUALLY FISHING BETTER ON DRIES THAN NYMPHS RIGHT NOW. RESULTS HAVE BEEN SOLID ON A VARIETY OF PATTERNS FROM THE SPECIFIC HATCH MATCHING LIKE ELK HAIR CADDIS IN SIZE 16 TO THE BROAD ALL ENCOMPASSING ATTRACTORS LIKE THE HIPPIE STOMPER, EITHER WAY ACTION ON THE BLUE IS WORTH A LOOK.
AND FOR ALL THE FLOAT FISHERMEN OUT THERE THIS WEEKENDS PICK IS THE COLORADO RIVER BELOW STATE BRIDGE, WHERE ACTION HAS BEEN VERY GOOD AND THE CROWDS MUCH LESS INTENSE THAN THE STRETCHES NEAR PUMPHOUSE.
