August 30 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 30th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH.
GOOD REPORTS CONTINUE TO COME FROM THE BLUE RIVER NOT ONLY FROM TOWN, BUT UP NORTH AS WELL. WITH CLOUDS IN THE FORECAST AGAIN FOR TODAY, LOOK FOR DRY FLY FISHING TO OFFER GOOD POTENTIAL. THERE ARE STILL CADDIS AND A FEW SALLIES AROUND NOT TO MENTION PLENTY OF HOPPERS ALONG THE BANK. ANGLERS HAVE HAD GOOD SUCCESS ON TERRESTRIAL PATTERNS SUCH AS TURK’S TURANTULA AND PMXS. CHECK OUT THE ACCESS AT THE PALMER GULCH AND BLUE RIVER UNITS NEAR FOURTH BRIDGE.
THE COLORADO RIVER BELOW KREMMLING REMAINS A PRODUCTIVE FISHERY AS WELL. TAKE A HIKE UP INTO GORE CANYON AND GET AWAY FROM THE CROWDS. AS THE FLOWS SLOWLY DROP, NEW POCKETS OF OPPORTUNITY OPEN UP ALMOST DAILY. START WITH A STUBBY STONE OR TUNGSTEN PHEASANT TAIL AND FOLLOW THAT UP WITH A BAETIS OFFERING.
FURTHER DOWN THE FLOAT FISHING REMAINS GOOD WITH THOSE NYMPHS FISHED UNDER A FOAM BODY HOPPER OR GOLDEN STONE FLY PATTERN.
