August 31 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 31st, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31ST.
WADE FISHING ON THE UPPER COLORADO IS STEADILY IMPROVING AS RIVER FLOWS ARE FINALLY DROPPING TO MANAGEABLE LEVELS.
ANGLERS ARE REPORTING THE BEST RESULTS ON NYMPH RIGS USING SMALLER BAETIS AND MIDGE PATTERNS. START WITH RS-2s, ZEBRA MIDGES AND BIG BEAR BAETIS. CHECK OUT ONE OF THE MULTIPLE PUBLIC ACCESS POINTS ABOVE OR BELOW PARSHAL, AND MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY.
FURTHER DOWN RIVER BELOW KREMMLING, CLARITY YESTERDAY WAS A LITTLE SPOTTY DUE TO RAINS MONDAY, WITH DRIER AIR THAT SHOULD IMPROVE TODAY.
FLOAT FISHING ON THE ARKANSAS REMAINS A GREAT OPTION AS WATER LEVELS ARE LOW ENOUGH TO FISH AND KEEP THE RAFTING TRAFFIC DOWN. YESTERDAY PRODUCED SOLID ACTION ON DRY AND NYMPH PATTERNS. WITH HATCHES OF TRICOS, CADDIS, BAETIS AND GOLDEN STONES, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPTIONS FOR SUCCESS. OUR BEST ACTION CAME ON CHUBBY CHERNOBYLS AND HIPPIE STOMPERS.
