September 1 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
September 01st, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST.
WELL HERE IT IS SEPTEMBER, ONE OF THE FINEST MONTHS TO ENJOY COLORADO AND THERE’S NO FINER WAY TO ENJOY IT THAN SPENDING TIME ON THE WATER.
FISHING ALONG THE UPPER ARKANSAS CONTINUES TO PRODUCE GOOD RESULTS FOR ANGLERS WITH CONSISTENCY. ACTION HAS BEEN EQUALLY SPLIT BETWEEN DRY AND NYMPH PATTERNS. THERE ARE STILL CADDIS AROUND AS WELL AS THE FRONT END OF THE BAETIS HATCH. COMBINE THAT WITH A GOOD POPULATION OF GRASS HOPPERS AND YOU HAVE THE PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR DRY DROPPER FISHING.
ON THE COLORADO NEAR PARSHALL, CONDITIONS ARE SETTLING IN FOR WHAT LOOKS TO BE A GOOD MONTH. NOTHING SAYS FALL IN THE HIGH COUNTRY LIKE BLUE WINGED OLIVES ON THE COLORADO. BAETIS NYMPHS HAVE BEEN ACTIVE IN THE RIFFLES AND PROVIDE A GREAT CHOICE FOR ANGLERS TO PRESENT THE TROUT. GIVE IT A TRY WITH JUJUBAETIS, SPLIT CASE BLUE WING OLIVES AND THE BIG BEAR BAETIS.
