September 3 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
September 03rd, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD.
FLOWS ON THE COLORADO RIVER NEAR PARSHALL CONTINUE TO DROP INTO PRIME FALL LEVELS. ANGLERS ARE ENJOYING INCREASED ACTION ON THE WATER AS WADE FISHING HAS IMPROVED WITH CONDITIONS. NYMPH RIGS HAVE BEEN PRODUCTIVE WITH A MIX OF BAETIS AND MIDGE PATTERNS. TRY JUJUBAETIS, RS2 AND ZEBRA MIDGES.
THE ARKANSAS RIVER SOUTH OF LEADVILLE HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER JUST ABOUT EVERY ANGLER. IN THE UPPER STRETCHES, WADE FISHERMEN ARE EXPERIENCING SOLID FISHING ON BOTH DRY AND NYMPH PATTERNS. START WITH A STREAM BANK HOPPER AND SUSPEND A NITRO CADDIS OR TUNGTEASER UNDERNEATH.
MOVING DOWN RIVER BELOW BUENA VISTA IS SOME OF THE BEST FLOAT FISHING ACTION IN THE STATE RIGHT NOW. FISH A GOLDEN STONE PATTERN SUCH AS A CHUBBY CHERNOBYL FOR THE DRY AND DROP A LARGE COPPER JOHN OR TUNGSTONE UNDERNEATH. IF THE CLOUDS ROLL IN, LOOK FOR FISH TO RISE TO ATTRACTORS AND BLUE WINGED OLIVE DRIES.
