August 13 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 13th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 13TH.
THE BLUE RIVER CONTINUES TO OFFER ANGLERS GREAT FISHING AS DILLON RESERVOIR REMAINS FULL AND SPILLING OVER THE TOP. CONDITIONS ARE PRIME FOR WADE FISHERMEN AND ACTION REMAINS STRONG ON DRY AND NYMPH PATTERNS ALIKE. EARLY IN THE MORNING START WITH A NYMPH RIG ANCHORED WITH A FLASHBACK HARES EAR OR PHEASANT TAIL. IN LATE MORNING SWITCH UP TO A DOUBLE DRY SET UP WITH AN ATTRACTOR SUCH AS A COACHMAN TRUDE OR HIPPIE STOMPER, AND TRAIL A LAWSONS PMD BEHIND THAT.
ON THE UPPER COLORADO FLOWS FROM WINDY GAP ARE KEEPING RIVER LEVELS SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, BUT ANGLERS WHO HAVE VENTURED OUT HAVE BEEN REWARDED WITH NOT ONLY SOLID FISHING BUT ALSO A LITTLE MORE SOLITUDE THAN NORMAL AS THE CROWDS HAVE BEEN BELOW AVERAGE. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ACCESS POINTS ABOVE PARSHALL WILL HAVE DRAMATICALLY LESS WATER AND EASIER WADING.
