August 14 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 14th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 14TH.
THE COLORADO RIVER IS NEAR PERFECT WITH MID-SEASON FLOWS AND PLENTY OF CLARITY. ACTION IS STRONG ALL THE WAY DOWN TO DOTSERO, NOT JUST THE UPPER ACCESS POINTS, WHICH TEND TO BE MORE CROWDED. FOR A LITTLE MORE SOLITUDE AND MAYBE A LOT BETTER ACTION WHY NOT CHECK OUT THE RIVER BELOW STATE BRIDGE.
FOR A LONGER FLOAT, GET OUT EARLY AND TRY STATE BRIDGE TO CATAMOUNT. THIS STRETCH COVERS 14 MILES OF PRIME TROUT HABITAT AND PLENTY OF CHANCES TO HOOK INTO SOME GOOD SIZE FISH.
FOR THOSE ANGLERS LOOKING FOR A MORE MODEST TRIP, THE 6 MILE STRETCH FROM CATAMOUNT TO BURNS IS ON FIRE RIGHT NOW. WITH LITTLE TO NO ANGLER PRESSURE, THIS FLOAT OFFERS GREAT ACTION IN A PICTURE PERFECT SETTING. HOPPER DROPPER RIGS WITH PATS RUBBER LEGS, BEAD HEAD PRINCE AND HARES EARS OR TUNGSTEN BAETIS NYMPHS OFFER PLENTY OF CHOICES FOR HUNGRY FISH.
FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
