July 28 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
July 28th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR THURSDAY, JULY 28.
FISHING CONTINUES TO IMPROVE AND IMPRESS AS TYPICAL SUMMER CONDITIONS HAVE ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES ON OUR LOCAL RIVERS.
ON THE COLORADO RIVER IN THE PARSHALL AREA FLOWS HAVE DROPPED ENOUGH TO ENCOURAGE ANGLERS TO GET OUT AND FISH THEIR FAVORITE WATER. THERE ARE YELLOW SALLY AND A FEW RED QUILLS HATCHING BUT WITH WATER LEVELS AS THEY ARE NYMPH FISHING CONTINUES TO OFFER THE BEST RESULTS.
WADE FISHERMAN SHOULD STILL APPROACH THE RIVER CAUTIOUSLY AS THE CURRENT IS STILL FAIRLY SWIFT AND THE FOOTING A LITTLE SLICK.
DOWN RIVER BELOW GORE CANYON WADE AND FLOAT ANGLERS ARE ENJOYING SOLID FISHING PRIMARILY ON NYMPHS AS FLOWS REMAIN JUST OVER 3200 CFS. BUT IN THE EVENING DRY FLY ACTION HAS HEATED UP AS THE DIRECT SUN LEAVES THE WATER. LOOK FOR CADDIS, YELLOW SALLY AND PALE MORNING DUN HATCHES.
AND WATER TEMPS ON THE BLUE BELOW DILLON HAVE STARTED TO RISE AS THE RELEASE NOW MOVES TO AN OVERFLOW. INSECT ACTIVITY SHOULD REALLY IMPROVE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
AS ALWAYS, FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
