Krystal 93 Radio, Morning Colorado Fishing Report – June 5, 2012
June 06th, 2012
The following report is from our daily, morning radio fishing report. We try to give a quick and informative overview of what is going on in the central mountains of Colorado. Keep in mind that this is a very limited format, as they only allow us 60 seconds. For a much more detailed report, feel free to call us at the shop or check out our fishing report on TheColoradoAngler.com. For those of you that may be interested, hear us live locally on Krystal 93 (93.9 FM), or go to: www.krystal93.com, to hear us from outside of Summit County. The report generally runs between 7:50 and 7:55 am.
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 5TH.
HERE IN THE COUNTY, FISHING ALONG THE SNAKE RIVER IN KEYSTONE OFFERS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ACTION FOR ANGLERS AS WELL AS THE SOLITUDE OF A NEARLY DESERTED RIVER THAT HAS YET TO SEE THE ARRIVAL OF SUMMER VISITORS. WITH A GOOD POPULATION OF NEWLY PLANTED FISH, FLY CASTERS SHOULD SEE GOOD RESULTS ON A MIX OF BEADED SEARCHING NYMPHS, EGG PATTERNS AND SAN JUAN WORMS.
FOR ANGLERS WITH A LITTLE MORE TIME TO FISH, TAKE A TRIP OVER TO SOUTH PARK AND CHECK OUT THE ACCESS ON BOTH THE SOUTH FORK AND MIDDLE FORKS OF THE PLATTE, WHERE FISHING IS IN MID SUMMER FORM ALREADY. EARLY IN THE DAY, RESULTS ARE STRONG ON HOPPER DROPPER RIGS, BUT BY 11 AM WE HAVE SEEN SO MUCH ACTION ON THE SURFACE, THAT YOU MAY WANT TO CUT THE NYMPHS OFF AND JUST FISH DRY FLIES. RESULTS HAVE BEEN GOOD ON A MIX OF HOPPER AND CADDIS PATTERNS ON THE SURFACE AS WELL AS HARE’S EAR AND CADDIS EMERGER NYMPHS
FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055.
