Krystal 93 Radio, Morning Colorado Fishing Report – June 8, 2012
June 08th, 2012
The following report is from our daily, morning radio fishing report. We try to give a quick and informative overview of what is going on in the central mountains of Colorado. Keep in mind that this is a very limited format, as they only allow us 60 seconds. For a much more detailed report, feel free to call us at the shop or check out our fishing report on TheColoradoAngler.com. For those of you that may be interested, hear us live locally on Krystal 93 (93.9 FM), or go to: www.krystal93.com, to hear us from outside of Summit County. The report generally runs between 7:50 and 7:55 am.
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 8TH.
THIS WEEKEND’S DESTINATION SPOT IS OUT WEST, WHERE THE ROARING FORK RIVER IS TEEMING WITH BUGS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. WHILE FLOATING THE RIVER YESTERDAY WE SAW; BAETIS, CADDIS, YELLOW SALLIES, PALE MORNING DUNS, A GOLDEN STONE OR TWO AND EVEN A FEW GREEN DRAKES. WHAT WAS EVEN MORE AMAZING IS THE FACT THAT WE VIRTUALLY HAD THE PLACE TO OUR SELVES. THAT WON’T LAST FOR LONG, SO DON’T HESITATE TO GET OUT THERE AND EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE BEST FISHING IN THE STATE.
FOR A RIVER CLOSER TO HOME, FISHING ACTION REMAINS STRONG IN SILVERTHORNE ON THE BLUE. RESULTS ARE MOST CONSISTENT ON NYMPH RIGS FOCUSING ON MIDGE PATTERNS IN RED OR BLACK, BUT THERE ARE STILL SOME AFTERNOONS WHERE FISH WILL RISE TO MIDGE DRIES. OR GIVE THE SNAKE RIVER IN KEYSTONE A TRY. FISHING HAS BEEN GOOD ON LARGE ATTRACTOR DRIES FOLLOWED BY BIG COPPER JOHNS AND EGG PATTERNS
FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055.
