Krystal 93 Radio; Morning Fly Fishing Report – June 1, 2012
June 01st, 2012
The following report is from our daily, morning radio fishing report. We try to give a quick and informative overview of what is going on in the central mountains of Colorado. Keep in mind that this is a very limited format, as they only allow us 60 seconds. For a much more detailed report, feel free to call us at the shop or check out our fishing report on TheColoradoAngler.com. For those of you that may be interested, hear us live locally on Krystal 93 (93.9 FM), or go to: www.krystal93.com, to hear us from outside of Summit County. The report generally runs between 7:50 and 7:55 am.
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 1st.
TODAY WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO CHECK OUT THE MULTITUDE OF OPTIONS IN SOUTH PARK. ACTION ON THE SOUTH FORK OF THE PLATTE HAS BEEN FANTASTIC ALL SPRING LONG AND HOPPER-DROPPER RIGS ARE ALWAYS A PRODUCTIVE APPROACH, FOR THE DRY FLY START WITH A STREAM BANK OR PARACHUTE HOPPER FOLLOWED WITH AN IRON SALLY OR HOT WIRE PRINCE. THERE IS PLENTY OF ACCESS TO SPREAD OUT ON BETWEEN KNIGHT IMLER AND 63 RANCH STATE WILDLIFE AREAS.
ALONG THE MIDDLE FORK, ACTION HAS BEEN EQUALLY GOOD AS WELL. THIS TIME, USE A STIMULATOR ON THE SURFACE AND A MIX OF CADDIS AND SEARCHING NYMPHS UNDERNEATH, MY FAVORITE IS THE BEADED PHEASANT TAIL. LATER IN THE MORNING TO MID DAY WORK THE SURFACE WITH CADDIS DRIES AND ATTRACTORS AS THE FISH START TO LOOK UP FOR A MEAL. BOTH TOMAHAWK AND BADGER BASIN OFFER GOOD POINTS OF ENTRY.
FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055.
