August 11 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 11th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 11TH.
THE BLUE RIVER CONTINUES TO BE A SOLID OPTION FOR ANGLERS AS FLOWS HAVE DROPPED SUBSTANTIALLY THIS WEEK ALLOWING FOR COMFORTABLE WADING ACCESS. NOW THAT FISHERMAN CAN ACCESS THE ENTIRE RIVER THEY ARE FINDING EXCELLENT CONDITIONS AND COOPERATIVE TROUT. THE SUMMER HATCHES ARE PRODUCING GOOD DRY FLY ACTION ALONG THE RIVER FROM SILVERTHORNE DOWN TO GREEN MOUNTAIN. THIS WON’T LAST TOO MUCH LONGER SO GET OUT THERE AND ENJOY THIS SHORT WINDOW OF TOP WATER ACTION.
THE COLORDO RIVER BELOW KREMMLING IS ALSO DROPPING TO MID-SEASON LEVELS OFFERING BOTH WADE AND FLOAT ANGLERS EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AT GREAT SUMMER FISHING. WADE FISHERMEN WITH A DESIRE TO GET AWAY FROM THE CROWDS SHOULD TAKE A HIKE UP INTO GORE CANYON WHERE PRESSURE HAS BEEN ALMOST NON-EXISTENT AND ACTION REMAINS STRONG ON STONEFLY AND BEAD HEAD SEARCHING NYMPHS. FLOAT FISHERMEN HAVE BEEN SEEING THE BEST ACTION OF THE SUMMER FROM PUMPHOUSE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO DOTSERO. THAT’S OVER 50 MILES OF GREAT TROUT FISHING!
