August 21 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
August 21st, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 21ST.
AS SUMMER WINDS DOWN CONDITIONS ON MANY OF OUR LOCAL RIVERS REMAIN STRONG FOR FISHERMAEN AS FLOWS CONTINUE TO RUN A LITTLE FULLER THAN AVERAGE, CREATING A MID-SUMMER-LIKE EFFECT ON THE FISHING. IF SATURDAY WAS ANY INDICATION, PLENTY OF ANGLERS ARE HAPPY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE GREAT CONDITIONS.
THE WADE FISHING ON THE BLUE AND THE FLOAT FISHING ON THE COLORADO BOTH REMAIN STRONG AND ANGLERS REPORT GREAT ACTION. BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO FIND A LITTLE MORE ROOM TO SPREAD OUT, HEAD ON OVER TO THE ARKANSAS TODAY WHERE THERE ARE MILES OF PUBLIC WATER TO PROSPECT FOR TROUT ON. CHECK OUT THE PUBLIC ACCESS AT GRANITE, CLEAR CREEK OR DOWN TOWARDS THE RAIL ROAD BRIDGE LAUNCH SITE.
TUNGSTEN PHEASANT TAILS AND BAETIS NYMPHS ARE A SOLID CHOICE FISHED EITHER AS A NYMPH RIG OR UNDER A FOAMULATOR OR HOPPER PATTERN. LOOK FOR A FEW REMAINING CADDIS AROUND AS WELL AS THE START OF THE BAETIS HATCH, IF AFTERNOON CLOUDS ROLL IN DRY FLY FISHING CAN BE HOT.
