July 15 Krystal 93 Fishing Report
July 15th, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR FRIDAY, JULY 15TH.
ANOTHER RELATIVELY DRY DAY THURSDAY HAS LED TO FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS ON MORE THAN ONE OF OUR LOCAL RIVERS. AND AS ANTICIPATED, STREAM LEVELS ON SOME ARE DROPPING RAPIDLY. WITH THE CURRENT TREND THIS WEEKEND COULD FINALLY BE THE KICKOFF TO OUR LONG AWAITED SUMMER BONANZA.
FLOAT FISHERMAN SHOULD TAKE PARTICULAR INTEREST IN THE ROARING FORK RIVER AS FLOWS HAVE DROPPED 40% IN THE LAST 4 DAYS TO A FISH-ABLE LEVEL AROUND 4,000. THIS IS STILL A ROBUST LEVEL, BUT CLARITY IS GREAT AND FISH WILL BE JAMMED AGAINST THE BANKS.
MID DAY ANGLERS WILL FIND SOLID ACTION ON NYMPH RIGS. BUT FOR THOSE PATIENT ENOUGH TO WAIT TIL LATER IN THE DAY, THE REWARD SHOULD BE GREAT EVENING DRY FLY ACTION. LARGE ADULT CADDIS AND STIMULATOR PATTERNS ARE TURNING PLENTY OF HEADS.
AS ALWAYS, FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
