July 31 Krystal 93 Colorado Fishing Report
July 31st, 2011
GOOD MORNING SUMMIT COUNTY, I’M ANDREW WITH THE COLORADO ANGLER AND THIS IS YOUR HIGH COUNTRY FISHING REPORT FOR SUNDAY, JULY 31ST.
WITH OUR UNUSUAL WEATHER AND LARGE SNOWPACK THIS YEAR, CONDITIONS ON THE LAST DAY OF JULY ARE FISHING LIKE THE FIRST DAY OF JULY IN A NORMAL YEAR, AND THAT IS A GREAT THING FOR ANGLERS AS FISING REMAINS STRONG THROUGHOUT THE CENTRAL PART OF THE STATE.
ON THE ARKANSAS, FLOWS IN HAYDEN MEADOWS HAVE FINALLY DROPPED DOWN UNDER 200 CFS WHICH USUALLY OFFERS THE BEST WADE FISHING ACTION OF THE YEAR. ANGLERS ARE HAVING GOOD LUCK ON CADDIS, STONEFLY AND PMD PATERNS, BOTH ON TOP AND BELOW THE SURFACE.
THE COLORADO BELOW KREMMLING IS IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL. WITH FLOWS SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE MANY FISH ARE STILL IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE BANK, MAKING THEM AN EASY TARGET FOR BOTH WADE AND FLOAT ANGLERS ALIKE. DAYTIME ACTION HAS BEEN MOST PRODUCTIVE ON NYMPH PATTERNS SUCH AS BEADED PRINCE, YELLOW SALLIES AND PHEASANT TAILS. BUT FOR THOSE ANGLERS WITH DRY FLY ASPIRATIONS, CHECK OUT THE LAST TWO HOURS OF DAYLIGHT FOR A GOOD CHANCE AT SURFACE ACTIVITY.
AS ALWAYS, FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON THESE OPTIONS AND OTHER TIPS FOR FINDING FISH, COME BY AND SEE US AT THE COLORADO ANGLER IN THE SUMMIT PLACE SHOPPING CENTER IN SILVERTHORNE, NEXT TO BLUE MOON BAKERY OR GIVE US A CALL AT 970.513.8055 AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.THECOLORARADOANGLER.COM FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
