CONSIDERING HOW PERFECT EARLY SEASON CONDITIONS ARE AND THE FACT THAT IT IS FREE FISHING, THERE ISN’T A BETTER TIME TO FISH THAN THIS WEEKEND. LET’S START WITH THE KIDS FISHING DERBY AT TRENT PARK IN SILVERTHORNE. THIS IS A GREAT EVENT TO KICK OFF THE SUMMER AND GET YOUR YOUNGSTER INTO THE SPORT.WE HAVE ALWAYS FOUND EGG PATTERNS AND SAN JUAN WORMS TO PRODUCE PLENTY OF ACTION.
LOOKING FOR A LITTLE LESS PAGENTRY? THEN CHECK OUT ONE OF OUR LOCAL RIVERS , WHERE ACTION IS HOT EVERYWHERE. THE UPPER ARKANSAS HAS BAETIS, CADDIS AND STONEFLIES. WHILE THE BLUE RIVER IN TOWN HAS GREAT MIDGE ACTIVITY, OVER ON THE PLATTE HUNGRY FISH ARE EATING DRY DROPPER OFFERINGS. THE SNAKE RIVER HAS NEWLY PLANTED FISH FEEDING WITH OUT CAUTION AND THE COLORADO IS SEEING THE FIRST SIGNS OF YELLOW SALLIES EMERGE FROM THE RIVER
